WatchMojo.com calls Rudy the best sports inspirational movie ever, because of one special message, and a true life example of living the life you want through Determination, and in their words, “Sheer, unadulterated human spirit.”
Some of my favorite quotes from the movie express the key lessons in the Master Key System, by Charles Haanel, that we are studying in the Master Key Experience course. “Chasing a stupid dream causes nothing but you and everyone around heartache.” I know I’ve heard this too often in my life as people criticize my efforts to be me, instead of becoming someone they want me to be, just like Rudy. I love Rudy’s response, “They always told me I couldn’t. I believed what they said. I don’t want to do that anymore.” Great words to live by.
Other great wisdom from the movie:
“Having dreams is what makes life tolerable.”
“The problem with dreamers is they usually are not doers.”
“You must be fully aware of the sacrifices you’re gonna have to make.”
“In this lifetime, you don’t have to prove nothing to nobody except yourself.”
This was the terrific advice Rudy got from those who really encouraged him to succeed, and advice, I believe, that’s worth paying attention to. The secret components of Rudy’s success? Those are the four habits of persistence, as Mark and Davene J are teaching in the course … have a Definite Major Purpose, clearly detailed in your mind; have a Plan of Action on how you’re going to make it happen; keep a Positive Mental Attitude as you progress; and enlist a MasterMind Alliance to support and help you on your journey.
The movie trailer itself summed up this movie nicely for me, “Sometimes a winner is a dreamer who just won’t quit.” These quotes are going down as a daily affirmation on my list of cards.
Find your bliss too and make your dreams come true, like Rudy did. Adopt the four habits and watch it unfold. I fully believe it will be worth it!

Thank you Day – your post touches me – I have been the non-doing dreamer in my life, but I am blessed and can change 🙂 Oh, that we can each be the doing dreamers, I am reminded of the quote at the end of week 13’s MK Lesson 🙂 …
They are the architects of greatness, their vision lies within their souls, they peer beyond the veils and mists of doubt and pierce the walls of unborn Time. The belted wheel, the trail of steel, the churning screw, are shuttles in the loom on which they weave their magic tapestries. Makers of Empire, they have fought for bigger things than crowns and higher seats than thrones. Your homes are set upon the land a dreamer found. The pictures on its walls are visions from a dreamer’s soul. They are the chose[n] few — the blazers of the way. Walls crumble and Empires fall, the tidal wave sweeps from the sea and tears a fortress from its rocks. The rotting nations drop off from Time’s bough, and only the things the dreamer’s make live on.
